2007 Standard Radio Question

Hello all,

I just purchased a 2007 Classic, I will be picking it up next wednesday.
I have a quick question about the Standard radio: Does it play MP3 CDs ?

( I don't want to plug an external MP3 player, I have burned a lot of CDs with MP3 tracks and I am hoping to be able to listen to them in my new PT )

If your Classic version PT has the "REF" version radio, single cd, am/fm, with the aux jack, no it won't. But it does have the aux plug-in jack.

The "RAQ" radio, (am/fm, 6 cd changer) will play mp3 cds

The radio type is labeled in tiny letters under the right tuning knob.

Can I change the Radio to put an aftermarket one? I guess I can't because of the Weird desing with the two knobs sticking out on each side.

Try asking the dealer to upgrade your radio to the 6 cd type. Maybe they will give you a swap out deal before you take delivery. It is worth asking.

Yeah you can buy a dash kit to fit the PT. I did on my 06, as the stock radio isn't all that great and ,mine also wouldn't play mp3's. The only hiccup will be your accessory power going to the radio. Because the PT has the delay shut off for interior accessories (radio doesn't turn off until you open a door or a certain amount of time passes), you have to tap into another accessory power as the radio harness doe snot have one. I tapped into my front cigarette lighter. It was a piece of cake.
