Different Front seats
one quick question, does anyone else with a 2003 pt cruiser, have 2 different front seats? the driver seat on the back has a pocket, then the passenger seat has a hard plastic backing, don't know if this was a option for 03 but i think it is kinda of wierd, any help out there would be appreciated[^]

My 2003 GT is the same. Back of drivers seat has a pocket and passenger seat doesn't. On both seats the backing on mine is a fuzzy cloth material or carpeting, whatever it is. When I first got the car I thought it was strange but after hearing about all the things they omitted from the 2003 model year I still thought it was strange. How much could the extra pocket cost?[:I]

Did the front passenger seat fold forward flat in previous years? If not, that could be the reason DC omitted the pocket and added the hard plastic backing. It is a great feature. I have moved several items that were about 8' long by folding down the rear seat the folding forward the front passenger seat. Extremely versatile vehicle.

The reason is because of the fold down feature on the front pass side.

Cruisergt is correct, if you notice your front seat will fold down so in case you carry seomthing long, and put in on the seat, the plastic is more durable than the material. some things they actually do think through.

Supposedly the hard plastic on the back of the passenger's seat will work as an extra surface for the driver, if they want to drive around with their passenger seat folded down. Kinda like a TV tray or something.

just a quick note.. I have an '02 limited and it has the smae seat back as the driver side... carpet and a map pocket.

I have an 01 Limited. The passenger seat folds flat and both seat backs are the same (carpet & map pocket).
