Strange smell...

Hello again all!

I'm hoping you can prove to be as helpful with this li'l problem as you have been with previous ones.

When I use my heaters/blowers, there's a stale, damp smell that comes out for the first five minutes or so. In addition to this, there seems to be moisture accompanying the smell as my car immediately mists up inside! Not particularly useful when you need to de-mist the windscreen in the first place...

I thought maybe it was the cabin air filter that had gotten damp. But alas, when I checked the air filter this evening, there's nothing there, which quite neatly removes that option from the equation!

Any suggestions on what could be the cause of this? Any idea's on how to resolve it?
