Welcome to the forum.

If the steering noise is more of a clicking sound than a popping sound, Chrysler sent three (3) TSB's out on it. TSB # 1900304, 1900402, 1900601. All of them deal in clicking noises coming from the steering.

What are TSB's you might ask ???

It's a Technical Service Bulletin for the dealer on how to go about fixing a known problem. I'm not sure, but I think you still have to pay for the "fix" if your not still under warranty.

P.S. It's better if you don't tell anyone (except the 7,423 members of this forum) that you are the one that hit the wheel and started the noise.

I did this once, the car hit the pothole at night and i yelled the F word yelled "THIS (f again) city sucks!", and slammed the steering wheel, as if it was the cars fault. poor PT, i did apologize to it though!

Maybe you dislodged the steering wheel lock?
