Default Headrests swap question

Does anyone know if the cloth headrests from an older PT cruiser (early 2000's) will fit on a 2007 model? My wife does not like the hard square rests that came stock.

Don't think I've ever seen a post where someone swapped them but it's sure easy to take the old ones out, probably just as easy for the newer ones. Just find someone with an older PT and ask if you can try theirs in yours. Should only take a minute to find out if it would work.

Don't know if they would fit? Since they seats are different.

That is one of those mods, you need a friend with a PT pull one off each car and swap to see.. Like CREWZIN said its easy pull them out, you just hold the button and pull up and out(we did this on a couple our PT's).

Or another possibility is having the OEM rests padded then recovered by a interior shop. They would match better than having a mismatch of the different Gen's.

My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life.

OR, you can pull them out altogether and replace them with door pulls of your choosing. They fit perfectly.

In the back that would work, but up front that could hurt you in an accident. The headrest keeps your head from flying around, door lock pulls would hurt you..

True. I never have anyone in the back and on the 2000-2001 models the darn rests are so big you can hardly see out the back. No wonder they put smaller ones in the rear in 02.

It was us owners that complained that got that changed. I remember at the LA block party talking to a designer/engineer about that. It was all us owners that got that done..

Me I have them in my 01, and found that if I lifted them a few notches so I could see under them I was fine. My honey yanked his out, my mom agreed with him so that was her first mod.
