I was wondering if I could fit a double din in-dash DVD player into my 07' PT Cruiser Touring Edition. I'm looking at Pioneer AVH-P3100, it looks nice and the reviews I read are good so far. If it won't fit, what would I have to do to make it fit, and how hard would it be?
Here's a link to the DVD player. Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD 5.8-Inch In-Dash Double-DIN DVD Multimedia AV Receiver with Widescreen Display: Electronics |

From what i understand, the PT Cruiser's have a 1.5 DIN so it would not work.
I had to buy one of these because i didn't want a stupid flip out screen. ![]() <-- I know that's not a PT Cruiser, but it is the same console bezel type except for the AC vents.

You can do it, but it requires reworking of the bezel and frame work behind the bezel. A little metal work and some fiberglass work you can get one in, but just as a replacement nope not gonna work. All years are the same 1.5 din size..

There are three more PT's to play with though ![]() My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life. |
