Default California Cruisers

Hello All,
I've been reading old threads about the hideous customer service of the San
Bernardino California Cruisers. Just wondering if they've improved their service
as I'd like to get the Radio Trim that they sell. I've emailed them to find out if the 'bright metal' cover they sell will be compatible with my airbag cover and
instrument panel. I live in Oxnard Ca. and I suppose I could drive there if necessary.
Has anyone here ever purchased this trim cover ?
Thanks,
Karen

No don't do it. Just don't do it.

What year PT do you have?

Go to CruiserMotorSports, PTtuning, PTeazer, PTboutique, Race & Steet, Lost in the 50's any of these guys have reps that are not full of holes or BBB complaints.

Gosh, I was hoping that things had changed for them. The radio cover looks really nice on the website.
I have a cool vanilla 2004 that I just got last Saturday

Thanks for the tip

Cheers,
Karen

You can pull that center panel and have it painted to match the other two, it will be close but not exact(since they don't make the silver that is on the dash panels) we have looked and tried. But its not that hard actually to pull all three and paint them all to match..

With that center panel out you can drive the car, it looks ghetto but everything will work, though I never tried using the A/C(the directional vents are attached to the back of the bezel).. With all three out, no car can't be driven, cause you have removed the passenger airbag(promise it will go back in).

The dash bezel on the passenger side is actually a flap that opens with the airbag goes off, so you remove the airbag and take the panel off the airbag frame paint it then reinstall it.

When it comes to California Cruisers, the best advice is: Don't! If you're really, really positive though, like they have something NOBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD has, then your only real chance is flat-out walking in there: don't waste your time with phone/email/carrier-pigeon/whatever, because they will totally ignore you at best.

That's too bad. I would like that center console piece they have, but, it's not
something I'm willing to stress over. Maybe if I'm ever in their direction I'll pop
in and see. Thanks for the reply, I had read the older post about their lack of
customer service, just thought they'd changed in the last year or two.

Cool Re: California Cruisers

Have you checked out all the web sites selling PT CRuiser dash kits?
Before I bought mine from American Truck & Auto, I had at least 5 other sites bookmarked. Most of them had more color and material selections than I cared to look at!
Chrysler Dash Kits | Chrysler Dash Trim | Chrysler Wood Dash Kit | Chrysler Wood Dash Trims | Flat, Molded, Carbon Fiber Dash Kits

Thank you so much for the links. I was just hoping to be able to find a trim
piece for the center or radio console that would match the 'metal' look of my
instrument panel and airbag cover. The only place I found was California Cruiser
website . If I can't find it, I probably will just replace the whole shebang with
the wood look.

The PTeazer guy above making you an offer - TAKE IT!!! I would give my front teeth to have any PTeazer work done

I still say if I ever hit the lotto one of my cars is going to live at his shop for a while, until its reborn as a turbo wide-body with a sweet 16 up front..
