Default Lever on back seat toward floor board

Today I was cleaning out my 2004 Pt Cruiser and noticed that on both sides of the back seat, next to the door there is a lever that you can pull out close to the floor board and was just wondering what it's function was?

Sue,

I take it you don't have an owners manual. Once you hit the button on the top of the seat, the seat folds in half. When you pull that lever, the seat folds up again up against the back of the front seats (see photo) giving you more space to load things through the rear hatch. Then you can unlock the rollers at the bottom and pull the entire seat out of the cruiser.

Yeah, unfortunately my cruiser didn't come with a manual I sure wish it had. Thanks for your reply, it's nice knowing what the little lever is actually for I was hoping that it was to make the seat move back some but oh well.

Thanks,
Snazzy sue

Hi Sue,
I just got one (I have a 2004 too) off ebay. It was fairly inexpensive, under
20.00 including shipping. I know there is several other 2004 manuals on there
right now.

cheers,
Karen

And don't forget when you tumble the seats forward like in the pic, take the straps and hook them in. They are on the seat bottom and hooked up in the pic. Keeps the seats from falling back in case you get hit from behind. Without the straps they tend to flap a bit under normal driving.

I remember when the back of my PT was that clean, then I got a big white dog.. Not so much anymore..

x2 on ebay owners manual.

My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life.
