The lock on the drivers side isn't working

Just yesterday the lock started acting up. The knob won't go down with the rest when locked or come up when opened by the remote. Sometimes it works though so I don't know what to exactly do at this point. It does lock or unlock by hand. Any help would be great.

The door does however lock at the 20 mph automatic lock option. Is that a separate actuator from the door's regular open and lock operation?

No, they wouldn't put a separate actuator for that function but that would be electrical whereas your talking about not functioning with the remote, right? If so, the actuator isn't receiving the signal from your hand-held devise.

Just looked at the 5 pages of wiring for the door locks. Each door has a switch and a motor. If any were bad the lock wouldn't work at all, but they all get the signal from the RKEM (Remote Keyless Entry Module) so that "might" be your problem.

Ok, then both my wifes and my remote don't work on it. It's the only lock not working correctly. Is this a dealer thing now to get the remotes to work? By the way thanks for looking over the 5 pages of stuff.

Your PT is a 2007 right, so my question is does you car still fall under the 36 / 36 warranty or is your mileage over 36000?

Our PT is a 2007 and has just over 30000 miles on it. We were told that the warranty was over in Feb 09. We would have extended our warranty but Countrywide mortgage screwed us and we had to hand over the thousand or so to them instaed of an extended warranty.

Unless we were lied to about our warranty being over.

Please confirm this for me and I'll take care of the misinformation I was told.

Something doesn't smell right. If you only have 30,000 on a 2007 there should be no way your warranty is up. I thought the lowest warranty was 3/36 and you haven't reached either mileage or time limits.

I'd have someone check into that. You did buy it new, right?

No .. It wasn't new but was a demo. We had it checked out and got the history on it and it was clean. We bought it in 2008. There is a Chrysler dealer here but the Dodge dealer works on them too and are better. I'll call tommorrow to find out about this. I thought it didn't matter who owned the car before but like I said no one owned it before us really.
