2003 PT lighter ???

my girlfriend will be getting this car on friday I noticed theres only one 12V lighter socket down by the floor but I see on the radio dash cluster where the other one should have been my ? is would the wireing for this be there to plug into if I got get the cluster piece from junk yard?? any info would be great thanks

Actually, they are technically called power outlets unless the car was purchased with the "Smoker's Package" which came with a removable ashtray that sits in a cup holder.

Honestly, I just keep a collection of BICs in the center console, and use the outlets to power misc. stuff.

The answer to yer question is yes, you should be able to find one in the junkyard in a wrecked PT fairly easily. Just pay attention to where you pull the wires from so you can duplicate it in the new one.

so then as long as it comes from a 2003? there should be the harness in the cars shes getting that will plug right into the back of the one from junkyard then ?

Yessir.

The front cover for the center console just pops out, make sure to pull your air controls (the knobs just slide off) before you pop out the cover. From there you should be able to get the lighter plug and the harness, might take some creative use of expletives due to the tight space if the radio is still installed.

If the harness is missing, you can utilize the forums here to grab the service manual for it and the wiring diagram and simply re-wire the connection too.

do you have to chang that whole dash piece or can you just pop out blank plug in the and pop it in ?

My friend put a second outlet in for me, we just went to an auto parts store and bought one there. It didn't take long at all maybe 20 minutes start to finish.
