dome light doens't turn off till i turn on the car...

Sometimes, actually quite often, if my car is off and i open the doors to get something , and close the doors and lock them - the dome light stays on like i didn't close the door

i need to turn on my car and back off, then when i close my door the dome light turns off.

does this make sense?

usually the dome light starts going off in a few seconds of the door closing..

That is a normal thing. You didn't say what year and the following may apply to all PT's, at least 2006 and up. On your left gauge pod there is a button that can be used to check out side temp, miles to empty etc. If you push the button enough you will come to personal settings, you need to press & hold to scroll thru and you can adjust numerous settings. I do believe that you can adjust the interior lamp, I know you can adjust the time the headlamps stay on after you shut the PT down.

If your PT is before the 2006 model the dome light stays on for about 3 minutes or a little more. It does go out almost instantly if I turn the key on. If I hang around waiting for it to go off it feels more like 10 minutes, but eventually it does go out. Same for the hatch light in the rear when you leave it open. It seems to take forever for the rear light to go out. I'm pretty sure there's no adjustment on the earlier models.
