Help finding air bag pod wood trim

My wife has decided that instead of going for the hot rod look, she wants the classy, art deco luxury look in our Cruiser. I'm fine with it either way because I get to buy toys and have fun playing with the car

Anyway, to give her what she wants, I have decided that wood trim with some chrome accents would be perfect. The interior of our Crusier is a dark grey (I think they call the color charcoal??) so I am thinking lighter woods would look best.

So far, I have only been able to find an air bag pod cover in dark burled walnut, which is not what I'm looking for. All the kits I've seen that come in colors we like don't have the air bag cover and I think the stock brushed aluminum would look out place with the lighter woods.

Can anyone point me towards a source that might have the cover in a lighter finish?

Lots of selections at WoodDash.com, lots of selections made by Sherwood here at AutoTruckToys.com, and I've actually looked at a couple of these from CarID.com. There are way too many out there to mention them all here, just Google PT Cruiser wood dash kit and you'll see what I mean.

Most of these do not have the passenger airbag cover. Not sure actually if that's a selection or not as I don't see it in their parts drawing for <'06 models. Hope this helps and good luck!

The issue isn't finding the kit. I've found tons of them! I was telling my wife about this and she decided she LIKES the burled walnut. Guess that solves that problem :lol:

I've posted pics on how I customed mine for the 2006 GT vert!
Here's the folks I used...and I even got a custom piece cut!

Sooner, that is AWESOME!

That's the look we're going for. I checked the link and it seems that they don't have a kit with an air bag pod for the '04 models

I have found a place to get what I want, my only concern now is being able to match things if I have to get parts from multiple sources. Anyone know how standard these finishes are?

They will send you samples! That's how I decided to make the decision.

The one from Cruiser Motor Sports is the only one I've been able to find that has the air bag pod. Like I said the wife has decided she likes the dark burl look, so now instead of going nuts trying to find stuff, I can go nuts saving up to buy the stuff and figuring out which thing to get first
