ok,so if and when I remove the plastic shift knob on my 06 automatic can I drive the PT with out it on??? thanks in advance,,,

Hey their azkruzn,
Yep you surly can. its just got a little skinny pin you push instead of the ball. Just be careful as I had mine off when my ride went into the shop to install my air ride and somehow someone accidentally snapped it off so evidently it is not the most sturdy thing in the world, but you can drive it nonetheless. Now that's a good friend, right there. If he was just a "friend," he woulda said that there's nothing he can do about it rather than give you a blanket.
My dad had a fairly old Beetle and said that if we wanted A/C, we'll just roll down the windows. If we wanted it on full blast, we'll open the doors (while we're stopped of course ).
