What year is pt? I have an 06 and have taken the center console out and did a swap to an 01. I recently just swapped back to my 06 center console. It really isn't that hard. If you have an 06 which cup holder? If it is the front one and just the bottom you can take the bottom out. If you need to take out the console on an 06 remove the bottom of the front cup holders (it is an insert) there are 2 screws, then there is 4 screws in the bottom of the cd holder, then you will have to pop off the rear window switches and dis-connect them, the toughest part is dis-connecting the cig lighters in front and in the cd holder. Once the wires are off the rear switches you will have to carefully pull the wires out the bottom. You will have to have the parking brake lever all the way up as much as you can possibly pull to slip the console over it. To be able to save a little money you maybe able to find the console at the local salvage yard. Good Luck

I got the console replaced today. My son did it. He said it wasn't too difficult just a bit frustrating. lol. Thanks to everyone that offered advice and the actual link online to order a new console. Much appreciation.

If its anything like my 05, slide both seats ALL the way back, and tilt the seat all the way back. unscrew the 4 screws *2 in the front 2 cup holders, and 2 in each sides of the rear cup holder. Pull up on the emergency brake as far as it will go. unclip the rear power window control. with a little manipulation, you can lift the console out far enough to unplug the cigarette lighter plug. then the console should come out the rest of the way.
