Default Mr Mikes interior items

I was curious if anyone knows if "Mr Mike" is still in business.
MrMikes PT Cruiser Home

I dropped him a couple emails.. so far no reply.. Wanted to see about ordering some items..
He DOES have a page you can order from... but when I get no reply.. makes a person suspecious about ordering (especially when you have to supply a credit card ##)

Just curious if anyone had any recent first hand experience

I do know that he has been to PT shows lately, maybe he is just behind on his e mails.

thats a possibility...
He has some nice kits..
Sure adds a clean custom look to the interior....

I see the examples he has for the door covers are from 2001-2005 models. Has anyone done something similar for years 2006 and up.?? Have any pics??

Mr. Mike is still very much in business He has, however, been on vacation for a few weeks. I'm going to see him Thursday when he installs a new leather interior in my 2004 Touring Edition. His web site (www.mrmikes.com) is up & running as is his e-mail (mrmike@mrmikes.com) Side note, I've been to his shop, seen his work and he helped us design an interior for our car. His work is perfection and his prices are right.

Westech, I may try to be there to help with the install. Mikes a great guy. We go way back. I bought my leathers and 80/20 carpet from him many, many years ago.
It will all depend on if I can get the day off.

Jerry

Thanks for the info about Mr Mike is still open.. I'd wrote a couple times over the last couple weeks, and got no reply.. so It made me wonder.

I see he has some 'door kits' to cover the area behind the door handle pulls... but all his examples are for 2001-2005 models.
No doubt the amount of material needed would be much more for the later models.

Has anyone ever done this sort of custom for a 2006- and up PT.
I was curious about taking the door apart,.. and then the piece is so much different that would be covered on the 2006 and later models.
I'd like to do this,.. but wondered if anyone else had ventured into this area. (love to see some pics)
I was thinking about covering the area,... then put a welting around it.
Let me know if you all have any info. Apprec

Street_Rod_Guy,
Give Mr. Mike a call at 1-941-922-5070 and ask him about the door kits. When I see Mike on Thursday I'll tell him to read the posts in this forum. I do know Mike would rather discuss his work over the phone as he asks a lot of questions specific to your particular car.
As soon as the interior is in, I'll post photos to this web site. Based on the photos of his work in progress, I can't wait to see the final product.

MrMike here, Alive & Kicking.
Not sure what the problem was with emails, I normally answer within 24 hours.
Did you email me from my website? (there is a bright yellow box that says “Email MrMike” right up top) I just tested it and its working.
These yellow boxes are scattered throughout the website, automated ‘subject’ lines for the different models.
Any emails sent through my website will by-pass the spam filters.

2006 doors? Not sure as I concentrate on 2001 - 2005, this represents 70% of the cars built.
The 01 - 05 sedans have door inserts that are a separate piece and can be successfully Removed / Recovered / and Reinstalled.
The convertible doors have an insert that is integral with the door panel, to remove those one must cut the door apart, reinstalling is a problem as the parts were melted together.
I have seen pictures of the 2006 + door panels, the “insert” appears to be integral. If so just paint it.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you,
MrMike

I went to MrMikes on Thurs. and met Westech and caught MrMike up on the latest gossip.
Westech is a great guy and we got along like we had known each other for years. I stopped on the way there to add a couple differant reasonators to my PT. As I get older, it seems quieter is better (still not quiet, but "quieter"). Then I stopped in to see Westech and MrMike. Great way to spend a day off.

Now to the most important part------Westech's PT looked fantastic!!! The colors and style they picked really transformed the interior. Great job guys. I'm sure Westech will be here with pic's soon.

Jerry

Just a heads up, Westechs got even more mods planned. It has started!! I'm afraid he's doomed.
