Default Sliding visor gets stuck

I have had to get my 2002 PT's driver side mirrored visor replaced 3 times since buying it used in June!!!

I drive lots of miles and NEED a visor to work. Again today, it stuck in the extended position and won't go back. It's dangerous as you're driving in blinding sun and trying to move a stuck visor.

Anyone else had this? Any suggestions besides them keep getting me new ones?

Yes, this is the visor that comes down in front of your eyes.

WHen I stopped by the dealer this AM, the service guy literally pounded on the end of it to get it to slide back in. THe he (using both hands) slid it in and out, not easily I might ad. He said, "you'll just have to use 2 hands to slide it." THat's really not an option when you are driving, not to mention being blinded by the sun.

My dodge/chrysler vans had the visor that the inside pulled out to block extra sun places.

Service said the only option is to use the same part that, in my opinon has been defective x 3!!

Has anyone else bought something from a car shop or somewhere that could be used as a replacesment? Surely I"m not the only person who has trouble with THREE visors not sliding, and the sun blinding your eyes.

Anyway, I like it except for that

otrqt, I didn't even know that they slide out. I just went out and checked mine, sure enough they slide. Both moved easily (passenger and driver side) with one hand. Looks like the part they slide on is plastic, have you tried sanding it down a little or maybe putting a lubricant on it like graphite power?

Me too! And I have 65,000+ miles on mine, and I never knew! I'd avoid graphite (black) - try silicone spray - dries clear & great on plastic.

Really? They slide out? Will have to check that, but judging from this thread may be best we don't bother!
