Newest Mod - Original / Am I the 1st?
Well, I wanted to spice up the interior a bit, so I did a little painting. I have a Patriot Blue Pearl Coat PT named "Pearl." Last year, I painted the grey plastic area around the dome light to match my exterior. It looks VERY nice, I think.
Last week, I was sitting in my car waiting for someone and I looked around trying to figure out what else I could paint. I found it. Wish I have a pic to post, but I have no digital camera or a scanner. Let me describe the areas to you and I know you can picture it in your PT heads!
If you have them in your PT, look at the 4 handles above the doors on the headliner. I thought of painting the entire handles, but I decided to paint only the rounded tabs on either side of each handle that cover the screws. I finished yesterday and it creates a FANTASTIC look.
To do this mod, you need to remove the handles. It's very easy. Pop those little caps open (they are hinged on the outermost sides) and you will see the screws underneath. Remove the screws, and then you need to use some force to pull the handles straight off.
I masked them off so only those caps were showing, then primered, sanded with 400 grit sandpaper until they were smooth as glass, then painted 5 coats and 4 coats clear coat.
The look is great. They really add to the interior and would look great on any cruiser with the handles. They look like very shiny little gems. Sorry, I have no pics. My bro has a digital camera. Next time he is coming over, I will tell him to bring it to see if I can gets some pics up here b/c I am really proud of this. I think I am the first to do this as well.
While I was at it, I also did the 2 black plastic triangles on the top inside of the rear doors. They look nice too.
