Has anybody done an aftermarket front seat conversion? I see this site has a good selection as well as the mounting brackets: http://www.racingseatsusa.com/ |

I'd like to know the same thing. If they have I wonder if they like them. Anyone put any aftermarket seats in?

Here's a PT with aftermarket seats in the front, they look like Recaro.

Those are Corbeaus. I've recently tried them in a showroom and didn't care for the finish quality or the fit. But then again I'm 6'7" so most things don't fit me anyway.
Now I'm dealing with Recaro directly for proper fitment - both for me and my PT. If all works well, I'll have more to report... |

I installed a Recaro demo seat in my PT last night. It's the Mobility LXF model which is not the same model as the infamous orange & black Recaro PT show car. I'm trying this seat out because I am extra-tall and am looking for comfort and more clearance.
Bracketry consists of 2 sliders (very smooth), 2 chassis mounts which utilize the 4 OEM bolts, and a seatbelt bracket. Initial impressions: very, very nice. Butt is closer to the floor and thighs are well supported. I feel cradled. Easy in-and-out as well as seatbelt connectivity. Tilt feature is infinitely adjustable and all clearances are good. Seat comes with 15mm risers (which I installed) but can seemingly be omitted for yet more headroom. I'm going to keep it for awhile and really get a feel for it. One option I will go for when I purchase is air lumbar. You can read more about it at www.recaro-nao.com |
