Default Clock for PT

I noticed on another post that one of the members had used a clock insert in one of the cup holders that looked pretty good. Even though I've got an '06 and it has a very nice one built into the center console, I've been playing around with the idea of creating these custom for the PT's.

I wanted to post a few photos of these setup in a 2004 console, and post this as a poll to see if there would be any interest in these amongst the members here. If there is, then I'm going to go ahead and produce a few test batches to see how well they work. The models I'm showing below are mock-ups of what I'm designing. I still haven't produced a good design for a nice digital clock version, but that's what I'm wanting for my PT - clock, calendar and alarm functionality in a plugin that is self-contained and battery powered.

The mock-ups below are all self-contained and battery powered, so no draw on your PT's battery. The first batch is going to be setup for the '05< PT's, as there may not be a bunch of interest in these for the '06 and up owners.

If there is sufficient interest, my first three will be sold here at cost plus shipping. We'll do a drawing of some kind to determine who gets them, assuming there is interest enough to move forward with producing them.

These series do NOT have any type of PT logo on the faces. That is something I'm working on but so far it's ugly and doesn't look right, so here you go, let me know what you think.

Brass

Brushed gold

Antique Gold

Matte black

I'm working on mock-ups for polished chrome and brushed aluminum and will post those when I get them done.

Please let me know your thoughts. These will price out below $20 including shipping, I'm hoping.

Me 2! Odd, same as what I've been looking for! It's getting the clock's functionality to fit in that small space. I want a digital that has day, date, time and alarm functionality, so it might take me a bit to create those. Anyway, soon as I do I'll PM you.

i remember you saying you'll put a domed crystal on it. will there be a glare from the so-called "ashtray" light?

and put me down for a matte black one.

I like them. Functional, plus a great conversation piece. For those who need both cupholders, design a smaller version that snaps into the 12 volt socket, or has that been done?

Hmmmm... giving me ideas!

Going to work out some mounting ideas for these, they are all mini-digitals. only problem is I can't get any that light up at a decent price, so these are all static:

Now I personally think this one is gorgeous, it's got a luminious face that makes the black stand out in the dark. This one is obviously more expensive, but the same size as those above.

Now the one's above I may be able to customize the face to put a nice "PT Cruiser" across it, not sure yet as they are so small. The luminous one, the only way would be to ink a logo on it, and that's probably going to be too much for me to do and make these economical. First couple I produce will be as shown, without the PT Cruiser on the face....

By the way, these mini's are almost exactly the size of the clock face in the '06 and up PT's.

Good news, the company that makes the clock workings is selling me the software to design custom faces. Here's one idea I'm thinking of:

Going to try the older style Chrysler logo too, it might match better.
