Default Mopar boost gauge install, but not where you may think!

Morning-

I searched this forum and more for a pillar pod for my mopar boost gauge and one other that I will install later... My problem was that I really didn't like the pillar.... And I didn't like the steering mount either!!!!

SOOOOOOOOO, here's my work in progress.....

I have have taken several pics, will post more as I get time to work on it...

The gauge fits like it was made for that spot!!!! I plan on using my dremel to smooth the edges where I cut the cross plastic pieces out of the vent... I never use vent anyway! And after driving it last night, the Gauge is in a perfect place for visual while driving!!! Hope you like! More pics to come!

Nice, it worked well for me. I did it around five years ago. You did completely block off the cold a/c air and hot heater air to that side right?

Yes, it's blocked off.... I never run my A/C... Hate the air blowing on me, would rather have fresh HOT air..lol

I'm not sure which gauge I want to put on the pass side...?

I did my research before doing this by tapeing off the outlets and it did just what I expected. Since I wasn't changeing the speed of the motor, I was only blocking off two of it's outlets, more air came out of the other two vents. I'm probably getting a SLIGHTLY lower amount of air total out of the remaining two outlets. I've had absolutely no problem keeping cool in the last 5 years of hot summers. In short, I have no regrets about doing this mod whatsoever. Plus it ALWAYS gets rave reviews from spectators at shows that know anything about PTs. Their eyes seem to go directly to the gauges without me saying anything about them. They are obvious even when looking from the rear hatch through to the front.

Just curious, but what/how did you use to block yours off? And also, what did you use to get the edges smooth enough to paint where you clipped the vents off??? I'm taking it slow with a dremel and then....??? lol
