door panels

I recently bought a 2003 PT Cruiser and one of the first things I did was have the seats reupholstered. I also wanted to have the cloth part of the door panels redone. The guy doing the work got the door panels off but said it looked like the panels had been glued on and didn't want to take the chance of messing something up. My Chrysler dealer's shop said they've never did anything like that, they've only replaced entire replacement door panels, so couldn't help us. I'm sure some of you folks have done this. Could you tell me how you go about removing those cloth inserts? Thanks. Bob

I've done it as well as a least a couple of others. Check this thread for pictures and instructions. The hardest part is the leap of faith.

Thanks guys, this looks like just what I needed to know. I'll make copies of this information and take it to my upholsterer. I'd like to post some pictures but don't know how to go about that either. Does it take a digital camera to do it? Thanks again, Bob

R.E., you can take photos with a regular camera but then you will have to have them scanned to a digital format so that they can be posted. Digital camera is much easier and quicker. Check out the FAQ for photo posting info.

Thanks for the info about how to post the pictures. Sounds like the digital camera would be easier. My son was talking about getting one, I'll see if he does yet, then he can show me how to do it. Thanks also for the welcome.
