Default Help with Interior LED's!

Ok guys here is my plan, I want to change out all my 2008 interior lights to the blue led’s. So that would be the dome, the map light and the cargo rear light. Which type bulbs or panels would you suggest? Also has anyone mounted anything in the rear door panels? I race RC’s on the weekend and use my PT as a pit table, charging table basically a work bench. I am working on some designs that a re functional but mobile. I was thinking about mounting some lights in the read door panel for some extra overhead light when needed. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Some time ago, one of the members posted crossover bulbs to LEDs!! Guess you'll have to do a search on here.

Ok from what I have read, some people have used the festons, depending on size from the 36mm, 41mm and 42mm. I was considering the dome as one of the 12 - 15 led panels, the rear I have no idea just want lots of light and the map lights also lots of light.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate for a minute here.... I've had blue LEDs in my truck... they looked really cool, but didn't provide very much light. You might want to check out a set that you pick up from PepBoys or someplace similar before you decide that is the way that you want to go.

As for more light... I installed a "super bright LED dome light kit" in the back of my PT. It was a kit that I picked up at (I think) Advance Auto Parts. I tapped into the dome light in the rear cargo compartment so it comes on and goes off with the rest of the domes. It provides enough light to be able to read a newspaper form about 10 feet away when it's pitch dark outside.... I needed it for loading cargo at 3am ...

You prefer the panels because they are brighter, fit better or both? I ordered a 12 led panel for the dome, but will also check to see if it will fit the map light.

Thanks for the help! Not sure if it is guilt for not doing more cool stuff on my 2001, but I am trying to make sure it get done correctly and looks good. Thanks again!

your welcome. But i prefer the panels cuz of the fit and the brightness. the panels are universal and you don't have to worry about the lip like how the festoons have. I was so disappointed with the festoons. All i need is about $25's to change my map lights to panels. unless i find them cheaper.
