Ok I'm sure this is gonna be a bad idea but. Has anyone installed an aftermarket steering wheel and ditched the factory setup with the airbag? If so, how did you do it? and what about uissues with the airbag system.
the billet steering wheels are looking mighty tempting ..hmm, billet racing wheel w/suicide knob (for looks of course) |

Jax, I don';t want to change your mind, but changing the wheel will be costly, plus the airbag deal might run into problems. (safety issues and COST). I got the leather covers from one of the sites onlinks, can;t remember which one, but soneone will post it. They look /fit and feel just right, plus they cost under 50 bucks. I think Gearhead or Crewzin gave me the link where I bought it. someone come to the rescue here for me and post the link. Thanks Gary p.s. they come in assorted colors, solid and two tone.

JaxPT, still looking for the pic of the PT with the steering wheel you had in your link. BTW, the adapter you will need in order to use one of those billet wheels is for a Chevy 95 to present, bolts right on.
Here are a couple of aftermarket wheels to look at in the mean time. http://ptcw.truckmoxie.com/mygallery.asp?id=3406 http://ptcw.truckmoxie.com/showowner...&n=81478&pos=1

Doesn't PT Chix Cruiser have a billet wheel on it? You might want to check the local laws about running without an airbag since there doesn't seem to be a way to include it at the moment. PT Chix Cruiser is primarily a show vehicle.

I'm not sure what the law is on that, I know my insurance company would probably drop me in a hurry if they found out though. The good thing about Florida is you can get away with driving just about anything, i've seen stuff i cant even describe going down the roads here, sand rails, cars without hoods, no state inspection rocks [?]lol
