Default Safecall Wireless Cellphone Mirror

Is anyone familiar with this? I found it on cruisermotorsports.com and I'd love to integrate bluetooth into my Cruiser, but I don't think right now I want to replace the stereo. This seems like a nice way to get Bluetooth without changing up the look of the car too much. I'm just getting started at looking over all of the overwhelming options of what I can do with this car and I have no idea how much I'll be doing. But I want to start with practical stuff.

Here is the page I found it on: Interior Accessories

Ill be the first to gripe

About 4 months ago walmart had the same thing, different brand.

I decided to open it up ti take a look at it. It seems that and this unit youre looking at are the same. Heres what I know.

1. It has to be plugged into the cig lighter and somehow still look decent with wires hanging all over your car

2. It is much larget than your factory mirror as well as looks ridiculous cause of reason 3.

3. It doesnt replace your stock mirror, rather it is spring loaded to grip onto your stock mirror then be secured in place by velcro straps.. So while itll look okay (if you could say that) from the inside, can you imagine lookin it the car from the front and seeing a bulky hunk of plastive strapped to ur rear view mirror?

so while the idea is great, in this use its flawed. If you want Bluetooth without a new stereo just spend about the same amount or a lil more and get a gps with built in bluetooth. (its what I do! Got my tomtom for 180 at a local best buy)

For a real replacement mirror with hidden led displays youre looking at a hunk of change as they typically have lcd screens for backup cams and a whole lot more. But they look stock and are integrated into your car.

Hope I could help!

Yes I bought a TOMTOM GPS with built in Blue Tooth and I like it.
Im sure any GPS Blue Tooth with Blue Tooth will work.
Once I mated it with my iPhone it worked great!
At first I was skeptical but it works quite well.
I too had looked into the mirror option and didn't like it.

Just wanted to update.

My husband surprised me with one of these:

Amazon.com: GOgroove Flexsmart X2 Advanced Wireless In-Car Bluetooth FM Transmitter with Charging, Music Control and Hands-Free Calling Capability for Android, iPhone, Blackberry and Windows Smartphones: Electronics

It's pretty cool. I wasn't a big fan of it in my Jag, but in the Cruiser it seems to work really well. I can use my phone or my iPod with this. You plug it into the cigarette lighter, and fits very well in the Cruiser due to it's location. It also has a USB port so you can charge as well.

It's not going to be as great as something integrated, but for less than $50 it is really impressive. I figure I'll eventually upgrade to something built in, but I have so many things I want to do to customize Petrie, I figured this would do for now.
