Default Drivers door arm rest

Boy o Boy, the arm rest is really hard. I had made up a pad with foam rubber and covered it with a soft old hanky. That worked OK but I did not glue it down so it was always falling off. So today I am going to make a good one out of 1 inch foam and cover it with some dark gray plastic/leather material. Then I am going to glue it onto the arm rest with some Weldwood contact glue. Don't think the glue will hurt anything and GooOff will remove it with a little work.
If it works and looks OK I will post some photos later.

I agree about the armrest being hard.
One might be able to avoid gluing by creating an arm rest that would hold in place by means of a projection from the lower surface, shaped and designed to press into the arm rest opening (hand grab space).

I was going to use a piece of strong tin, but could not get it to slide down next to the door. So I will glue it.
