Redman, here's a solid billet piece: http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx...hiftknob.shtml

Wack the plactic OEM piece off, break out the golf clubs and send it into orbit [B)]. Now get a hacksaw (a very sharp hacksaw) and cut the shifter rod down about 3", file sharp edges and install the new piece. No need to thread the rod cause this one mounts with mini-allen screws.

While it looks stock, some of us out here can spot the details...

5-speed. Did anybody manage to fit it on theres...
Recommend that you call MGW (PHONE: 706-793-1770) and ask to speak with George. If he can make it work for you he will. This company has outstanding customer service. [^]

George is a good guy but he is more concerned with his autostick than 5 speeds it seems. Long before he came out with shift knobs for the PT's I spoke with him asking about a GT specific knob. Either the 5spd pattern or just use the mustang knob he makes that says GT on it. He said they were working on it then all we get is that stupid T-handle and he makes the GT for the autostick. I like his products but I guess you only count if you drive the AS like he does.

Thanks for the input, I didnt call but emailed MGW
about the mustang GT knob, reply I got was it wont
work. Ill have to get back to them and ask about
inside diamiater of the mustang knob. To see if I
can somehow use it, it looks better than the PT
one. Has a different base, probably can drill and tap
a set screw to hold it on.

All,

Coming in late on this thread...I have been working with the guy from Gunslinger about adapting the Pistol-Grip shifter for our PTs and including the Auto stick. I will let you know how it works out.

Cruisergeo, the GT 5spd has the shift gate for reverse down and to the left which is opposite on the n/a 5spd.
I've seen that one, and if I wasn't so anal about things like that I woulda bought it.
