Remove the panel and fix what ever is making the noise. Or you could make a big mess and spray some foam into the panel to encapsulat what ever it is.

Are you talking about one of the two side panels or the rear hatch panel?

I had a rattle in my rear hatch too. It was the plastic lens for the center brake light.

Just have your wife ride in the back and push on the panel!

Seriiously, I dunno. You might try removing and replacing the panel, making sure everything is tight.
