Default center dash question

I know how to take the center dash apart. That's not my question. I'm wondering if the area around the knobs can pull off and be reaplied? It looks like a sticker pretty much. Wantin to paint my center dash the same color as my car. I know I can tape it off but wasn't really feeling it

Paint all around the dials. The part that comes off never touches anything you need to worry about.

Maybe I'm wrong about that, but you can probably take out the part with the vents and dials.

That pic is exactly what I'm wanting to do. I wasn't wanting to tape it off since ima scuff it up a lil with some sand paper and primer it then paint it then clear coat it. I guess everyones just taped it off.

I'm in the process of doing this myself. Took the center apart without much problem. I'm just not sure how to remove the gauge bezel or passenger air bag cover.

i believe the dash pad has to come off to get access to the gauge bezel as well as the passenger airbag.

Essentially start at the A pillar covers and pull the A pillars and dash top. The dash top will pull straight back, it doesn't need much if any upward pull. The pins and clips that hold it down will break with relatively little effort.

Then center console, knee bolster drop out of the way and then the covers that are clipped in place. Watch for the occasional screw, there aren't many. While you're in there, replace the dash bulbs. It's too much work for just the bulbs.
