It just pops out there are no screws for the switch, but there is one behind it for the housing. I use a very thin flat head screw driver and pry very carefully. I have done it several times. I either start from the bottom or one of the sides.

Gonzo,
It just lifs out, no tabs. They say to use a trim stick so you don't mar the surrounding surface. Just pry all four sides little by little till it comes out. Once it's out it will reveal one tiny screw that holds the outter console trim plate on. That too just prys off but you need to take off a few knobs first.

I was gonna say it's covered in PTDoItYourself.Net under Aoogah horn install for where to put the switch, but now that you have to subscribe [B)] I'll tell you it just is pressed in. [|)]

Just pop it out with a flat head screw driver covered in a towel. After out you need to figure out how to work the plug. It detaches from the right with the red button thing, I forget how it works.

Crewzin,
I've tried 4 times now still can't get console to lift over auto shifter. Did you take both armrest off. It's still a tight squeeze Had seats forward and aft, folded backs forward & all the way back I'm still not getting it. My switch came right out made a trim tool out of wood, has 2 plugs (no screws). Cigarette lighter I assumes just plugs in but can't get console back far enough. My cruiser is a 2003 if it makes a difference. Taking a break before I screw something up[xx(][xx(][xx(] By the way console looks great!!!! With new pic I meant to say awesome

Gonzo,
OK..here's what I did. First, the leather shifter has to come off. One set-screw loosened and the shifter just lifts off, leaving a shorter metal shift rod. Both seats titled all the way back. I only have one arm rest but I don't remember it getting in the way. Two screws in the front, two in the back. Rear switch out wires tucked back in. Start from the back and lift up.Wiggle like heck until it's in the air and you can get to the cigarette lighter in the front. That's a PITA connection also but it will come off. There's a small red plastic piece that falls off from the lighter connection...don't loose it, it has to put back into the back of the lighter before the connection can be put back in. Once disconnected wiggle the whole console up over shift rod and around till it's off. ![]()

Crewzin,
The trouble I was havibg again was my own fault, removed both armrest and pin and the big part was raising the parking brake to its highest point. Once I did this it was a snap. I see what you meant about the cigarette lighter but now it seems easy. Also what is that red light for between rear defogger and rear wiper switch, not on mine? Thanks for all your help ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gonzo,
Red light is actually a square spring loaded push-button for the Aooga Horn. Now there's another red lighted switch in the blank space next to the chrome EJECT knob. I just installed PURPLE Plasmaglow LED under car lights...they blink, chase, follow and dance with the music. ![]()
