wood dash add on

Has anyone installed a wood dash in their PT? I would like to hear form you...also, how about good qaulity seat covers for the Turbo? do they have them yet? I have clothe inferno red and wanted to add a little spice inside...Thanks turboman

I added both wood grain and chrome to the dash. On the seat covers, I just replaced the seat inserts and used the rest of the original cover. I used a cloth velour (over the hill, I prefer comfort) that matched the exterior color. Unless you're good at sewing have a trim shop do it. My problem that is I don't know enough about this computer stuff to post pictures. My wood preference is burl wood. If you want exact references, I can look back and find them. MAINLY, get a full plan in you're mind before starting so that you don't have overkill or an uncoordinated interior. The wood grain should compliment what Chrysler put there and not be an end in itself.

I used a couple of wood grain kits and the Startech Interior Trim Kit from www.ptcruiserparts.com. The seat covers were sewn up at home with material from a local automotive fabric store.

I forgot. If you add a 3-dimensional (large) cover to your center pod, it sticks INSTANTLY on contact whether it's positioned correctly or not! You can lightly mist the adhesive tape with rubbing alcohol so it will move for positioning. Practice this first using a piece of the wood grain kit you're not going to use on a piece of scrap plastic (old soda bottle). And clean the surface you're applying the wood grain with the alcohol.
