1. Washed. 2. Carefully masked hvac controls. 3. Carefully degreased. 4. Removed hvac mask. 5. Applied new hvac mask. 6. Wet sanded with 800. 7. Immediately unmasked now wet mask on hvac area. 8. Applied new hvac mask and lightly tack ragged entire bezel. 9. Applied plastic primer. 10. After 6 to 8 minutes applied first coat of base color. 11. After 12 to 15 minutes applied second coat of base. 12. After another 12 to 15 minutes, if satisfied with color saturation, applied first coat of clear. If not then apply a third coat of color. 13. After another 12 to 15 minutes applied second (or first) coat of clear. 14. After another 12 to 15 minutes applied another coat of clear, if this was indeed the second coat. 15 Let thoroughly dry for one week to prevent bruising while handling the bezel while reinstalling. I personally waited for one month so I could apply two coats of wax BEFORE reinstalling the bezel. Even though they were already BSG (PP6 paint code) I also reshot the gauge cluster and passenger side airbag cover at the same time to make sure they all matched precisely. Be careful masking around the window switchs. Yes, I used rattle cans for all of this process. PLESE CLICK BELOW ![]() ![]() Jerry Last edited by wwpptc; 09 Nov 2013 at 08:28 pm. |

You probably are going to be religated to using somthing like the stainless satin or polished custom cover from Americam car Craft. Interior - PT Cruiser I thought about using the polished one at one point just for giggles. It would have matched the chrome door handles, etc. and tied the interior together. ![]() Jerry |

I choose to mask off the vent area to match up the end vents color. I washed it with awesome. Sanded with 800 grit. Applied adhesion promoter, Then base coat ( two coats). As per product instructions. Clear coat ( two coats). All In one masking. All the same day. Remove the masking as soon as the paint is cured.
