It's hard to tell from pictures but I thought it would also just rest on top of the boot. I have my existing boot, a SRT Neon boot and a grey boot on the way from England. Also have an 06 light grey boot that I order that was just to light for my interior. But I cut that one up for the ring. Also considering sending a boot to Redline to make up a custom boot in a color that would match my grey interior. I guess another $30 is not going to make a difference. I wasted a lot of money over the years on mods that did not pan out.

I gon'na say NO, it won't work. The chrome oval trim is just about the same size as the oval opening in the floor console. The leather look boot has an internal hoop that is actually bigger and overlaps the hole in the console so it's bigger than the chrome piece. If you remove the hoop frame from the boot and glue the boot to the inside back of the chrome piece, you lose what attaches the boot to the console.
The only way you can attach the chrome piece in a manual is to glue or attach some tabs or a backer board to the underside of the oval opening in the console and then glue the chrome ring with the glued on boot to that. |

Thanks for the info. Order one today. Still cold here so something else to do. I'll give it a shot. Why not.

Not to 'highjack' Steve's thread, but I've been getting an idea for my ATX bezel, and wondering if it's possible to do an ATX shift boot like I've recently seen in photos of a C6 Corvette w/ATX?....But with a PT's ATX bezel instead. Like this one(C6 Corvette w/ATX): Auto_Shift_Boot.jpg

Should be doable. But the only problem I can forsee at this point is when remounting the center console is to get the shifter thru the boot. ![]()
