Default Front Hood Struts/Lift Kit ( Clark & Clark )

I ordered these just a few days ago and was happily surprised that they arrived so quickly from Race and Street. (Thanks Maggie!)

Race and Street: Chrysler PT Cruiser Hood Struts Kit Black Premium - Clark & Clark

I wanted the chrome set but I thought they were a bit pricey. I figured, I can get some covers and paint the brackets down the road.

Thanks to the forum once again for making the install very easy. "Chromenut" had posted a nice tutorial on an earlier thread. Thanks!

How to install Pneumatic Hood Struts!

Just a little push and up she goes nice and smooth

Not sure if I should remove the OEM Prop

I might need it down the road?

Danny,

If you get a hold of a roll of chrome tape, you can wrap the struts and that look just like that were made that way. I did both the front struts and the rear that hold the hatch up with the chrome tape. As far as the old prop. I just painted mine black and kept it. You hardly notice it on the side.

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

Thanks Cruzin for the Chrome tape tip. Next trip to Pep Boys I'll have to pick up some and give it a go!

Where did you get that cool radiator hose cover?...lol

Great mod!

That's a nice looking engine bay, too.

I've put hood struts on all 4 of our PT's...one of the best things I've done. I also removed the original hood props for fear someone might try to use them. And I also did the chrome tape thing on a couple of them.
