Unhappy Rear seat will fold, will not tumble

I seem to be having a problem with my passenger side, rear seat. It will fold flat when I push the release button on the top of the seat, but will not lift when I pull the release handle on the bottom. This is an issue when you're a clean-freak like me and like to vacuum up all the dirt in your car I've had the seats in my car for about 6 months and have only had this problem recently. I read here on the forum that the seat belt may have something to do with it, but they all function normally. The seats are from an '01 Limited and are in an '02 Touring.

Thanks in advance!

PULL!! if that don't work, fold it, sit on top of it and push against the ceiling, and try again. i went through that. then again mine was stuck from a pistol wedged underneath it. never stashed anything there again

So, lets just go out on a limb and say a great big mountain man came by and pulled and pulled and the strap is no longer attached to anything. Though he ment well, how in the world would you repair that?

The bottom of the seat...the part you sit on has a pull strap.

MFusilier remains a one post confusion sower; like a hungry forum ghost who won't leave and thus attempts to live on in different user names.

Perhaps the original poster will provide a picture of a MFusilier strap

i just like to think the M is for Melissa, and if she's anything like my Melissa, she likely wants to take the seats out to fit more plants in the car
