Cool Fitment of OEM Deluxe Floor Mats between Gen 1/2

FWTW...
I just trued in my Deluxe OEM mats for the 2010 into the 2005 Dream Cruiser.
They fit just fine!
The back ones might be 3/4 inch narrower Lt to Rt.
But, they fit just fine!
harrym and Handy_Cruiser like this.

That make sense. The floor pans should be identical, or near enough. The only difference in the carpet should be how they finish off with the new versus old floor consoles. If the little rear mats are "3/4 inch narrower" it's probably just because Chrysler got a lower quote from a supplier. 3/4 inch X a couple hundred thousand mats adds up to a tidy bit of savings.

Years ago when I was barefoot and poor, I would get scrap remnants from the carpet store and whack out my own "custom" mats. Remember shag carpeting? Back in the 70's, I had an orange metallic car with a black interior to which I added some rusty orange/pumpkin colored shag mats. LOL!

Wow! And, I though that I was the only one to do that!
Had them in our first car, the 1960 Ford Falcon. And, when the OEM mats wore out on the 1970 Dodge Dart!

So did I. And several of us carpeted an entire apartment with scraps, back when they were free. We laid down rolls of brown paper that one guy obtained somewhere, and we glued the scraps to it. We were dumpster diving behind the carpet store for a couple of weeks. What a deal! We did spend more on beer than we did on carpet glue, though.
