Is it possible to add the power seat adjuster to a base model? We found a base model right colours and equipment, but no power seat. My wife is 5'1" and needs the seat higher. How expensive and involved would an upgrade be? Thanks

I think it would be easy. Many folks have reported that when adding things that were options they discover the wiring is there! I would also think the seats would have the same bolt pattern.
Search the classified section here & on other forums - there are sveral wrecked PTs that parts were being sold off of.

My mom is about 5'1", and she doesn't even use the seat height adjuster. She seems to sit pretty tall in the seat. I think that it's a pretty useless item that they throw on so DC can make a few extra bucks. Just my 2 cents though.

We wanted the power seat height adjuster since my wife is 5' tall. We found that the power seat height adjuster mechanicism adds enough height that she and I both use it in the fully down position. Those that are over 6' tall will be better off without it, especially if you have the sunroof that also reduces headroom.

I agree that you don't really need the seat height adjuster. I thought it would be a nice option to have when the Cruiser I was going to buy had one, but I've put it all the way down and that's where it stays and I still think the seat is a little too high. I'm 5'3".

I'm 4'10 and I have a 2004 Basic PT (Electric Blue). Unlike my previous car (a Honda Civic), I have no problems with visibility in my PT. You can always use a pillow if visibility is still a problem.
