Default "A" Pillar changeover years? For 3 gauge pod

Hello I have been looking for a 3 gauge pillar pod solution for a 2004 PT Cruiser, the shops in town say they see one listed for a 2001-2003.

Can anyone tell me if the pillar trim was different after 2003?
I think other than color they appear the same, hoping to get to the wrecker this weekend to compare.
Pretty sure they are looking at the autometer pods. Noticed a "pro parts" Pod on summit racing but I never heard of them before.

Hope someone can clarify this for me and I can order it right away.

Thanks

Actually, your not gonna find one & if you do...it won't fit right.
PM "NitroPT" or "Handy_Cruiser" about this.

I noticed a post from them about having to trim and glue the cover to the pillar.
No sweat there I have a spare I will be wrapping with vinyl so color is no concern. As long as it fits the shape of the pillar trim.
If really needed I could epoxy the edges to be smooth.
Going to have to take another look at the pics.

The trim is the same through at least 05. Per your question.

Thanks Busted,

Nitro I am down for "fun". How close did the pod fit before you gave it some sun? Is that the Autometer #17215 pod as well?
I want basic gauges and need to mount them in a clean manner.
The term I use is WAF "Wife Acceptance Factor"
If I don't do pillars then going to have to make a custom center dash pod

Look into an Ultra Gauge. It will over almost every single gauge with the exception of ARFs. It was one of my first projects on our PT .

Here's a link to the pillar pod that I bought:

https://www.modernperformance.com/pr...uiser_interior

I bought this one specifically because it was supposed to come in gray to match the original pillar posts in my 2005 GT. But the color of the pod is much different. Other than that, fitment appears to be just as described.

But my plan was to prep my pillar pod much the same way as shown in NitroPT's project thread. I got an extra left A-pillar at a salvage yard and clamped it to the pillar pod. It will be glued on with epoxy. And then I will paint it the correct gray color to match my car's interior. But I got distracted and haven't finished it yet.

I believe this pillar pod will fit as per its directions by simply using the little plastic fasteners that come with it. But NitroPT's method appears to look much better. Besides being the wrong color of gray, my other gripe is that the angle of the holes for the gauges makes it difficult to install the long Autometer gauges. But they will fit with a little effort.
