Default Remote Starter- which one?

Could anyone recommend an ideal remote car starter for my 2003 PT Cruiser GT Turbo? What is best for just using to warm up the car each morning during the winter?

I would suggest the Viper 4806v. It has up to 1 mile range, two way remote. For start confirmation. And keyless entry. Also is capable of doing a turbo timer. If that applies.

Remote starters are nice but only if there factory equipped. In my opinion I have removed so many aftermarket starters from vehicles because after sometime they cause problems to car. 5he electical system and immobilizer will not like it . The pt has enough electrical gremlins just from the factory . Personally I would spend money on something else. Just my experienced opinion. Happy cruising.

Re: Remote Starter- which one?

If you are going to get a remote starter choose a product that has a kit specific for your application. The universals will work but if you are asking which to buy then they probably are ones to stay clear of. Those universals require some experience with auto electronic to install them correctly.

You might also check with your local Auto Electric shops to see what they offer for a kit and installation package.

Don't worry about PTGT03's remark about the engine block heater. He's a little sarcastic to all new people to the forum that come and ask questions. He believes everyone should know the answers to all their questions and shouldn't have to come here for help or advice. You made the comment that you wanted to warm up the car so he's saying the engine can stay warm with a supposedly built in engine block heater which isn't anything like getting the interior of the car warm so you can tell he's not even in the right ballpark as far as your question.
