Default Dash Control Bulb Replacement?

The bulbs burnt out recently in parts of my dash. These parts are part of the heater controls, the driver heated seat button, and all of the window switch buttons (including the one's for the rear). I have all the features with my 2008 Limited. Is there anyway I can replace the bulbs easily without soldering? I noticed on the dash clock that it has two twist bulbs. What bulbs are those? Last time I bought a used dash clock on eBay the bulbs were weak and didn't match the OEM green. Here are pictures of my dash:

This is from my old control unit. You have 2 bulbs burned out your HVAC control, one at the top of the vent selector switch and the one under the ac button. It looks like they are soldered onto the board:

On the center window switch, there are only 2 lights on the switches for both front windows, none of the other window switches have bulbs.

Lightbulb Re: Dash Control Bulb Replacement?

There are several historical threads on replacing the HVAC bulbs.
My advice....replace them all to match with LEDs.
You don't want to do it a second or third time soon.
There is one, I think the lower center bulb, that is a PITA to get out and in.
You just need a cheap hemostat.

Someone probably has those historic threads bookmarked, and can share.

Thanks for the replies. I don't really want to replace the bulbs but my custom radio does have white LED buttons so I would obviously want to match that.

Cool Re: Dash Control Bulb Replacement?

When I left for ChallengerLand, I trashed most of my historical PT Cruiser bookmarks...unfortunately.

**But, here is a pretty good recent thread that I found by searching the "Interior" forum.
Heater Controls - Swapping out bulbs for LEDS

The only thing that I did NOT DO...was place a resistor in line.
And, I had NO PROBLEM WITH THAT for years after.
Here's a picture of my HVAC controls after swapping out for LEDs.

See how bright the extremely bright the left and high are???
I even went so far as to add 2 extra LEDS on the left and right edges where the lighting normally fades out!

Again, I had no problems at all...not finding the need for a resistor.

I have been wondering for a (few years) what kind of a pain in the ass the bulbs were going to be. Thanks for the tips. it doesn't look as bad as I assumed it would be. And for showing the back side of the panel!

I have been replacing light bulbs in vintage electronic equipment for years. LED's are a great substitute for bulbs. I will do this when I replace mine.

A tip, I have found it a lot of situations that LED's can me very directional. Most of the light is emitted straight out the end. It can lead to bright spots and dim areas. I sand the finish of the bulb. It will then act like a defuser, more evenly spreading the light.
