Red face QUESTION ABOUT ELECTRONIC TO REAR DOORS

It seems there are a lot of lingering question and details to be solved with my PT Panel Project.

Apparently Denny's door kit was made from PT Cruiser base model doors, with no electronic door locks, and possibly no door sensors.

My Turbo Cruiser has a bundle of wires that went to those rear doors.
1. Can those wires simply be cut??
Or, must they be "tied-in" as if functioning.

2. Even if I decide with the shaved door handles to simply leave the inside locks as "manual", will I be getting codes?

3. Can the computer/PCM be flashed to ignore all errors relating to the rear doors?

I will be calling my fav dealer on Monday.
But, I thought someone here might have some experience with this type of change.

How about contacting Denny to find out who else he has sold his door kits to. He should be able to get the contact info from his Ebay sales and pass it on to you, or he could contact some of his previous customers, giving them your contact info, and maybe they can tell you what they did to their PT's to make it all work.

I never thought of that predicament before but since the rear doors no longer have the windows, that's why he strips all that out of the doors as all of that stuff is no longer needed.

If you still have your old doors, can't you just pull off what you need.

Since this is a G1 Cruiser, I wouldn't think the computer would throw any door codes unless you have it built into the cluster.

The sensor to tell the car the door is closed is on the body, not the door. All the crap in the door should be not needed

You are probably right!
I do not recall even seeing the little sensor on the body for the rear doors.

LionPT - I'd just rather not put anything extra on the Panel PT doors, of I can help it.

Will await some further advice from my service tech Monday.

This should be the switch that rob is talking about:

Thanks Rick!
You're right....and I had even overlooked it in the picture!

Of course, I haven't seen that door jam in about 5 days, sooooo...

And, the wiring should not involve the door bundle.
Because...it's always good to know there is a door open!
(Unless you have squirrely teenagers!)
Great!

JUST A FOLLOW-UP TO MY DEALER'S ADVICE TO JUST CUT THE WIRE BUNDLE TO THE DOORS, containing the wires for power windows and door locks.

DON'T JUST DO THAT.
Get a technician good at the electrical aspects to help!

Since I cut that wire bundle...
I HAVE NO INTERIOR LIGHTS or Keyfob doesn't activate the front doors, or beep like it did.

So, their must be an open circuit...like one of the wires or 2 to the power door lock motors, or window motors need grounded.
Shop guy's son works at a Dodge dealership an is "the man", and will look at it Tuesday.

rambojoe!

You misunderstand..
I DID CUT THE BUNDLES AT MY DEALER SERVICE REP's ADVICE!!!!

Even though we desire no power window or door lock option, we are thinking that there are ground wires on both sides that need to be grounded to the body.
I did save the cut ends just in case. And, I pulled the harness (6 wires) down the door pillar for easier access.

The next night we get an "opening" (Jeff is applying the last clearcoats tonight), the shop owner's son-in-law is an electronic tech for a Dodge Dealership locally, and will come by to help us work it out.
He does this for his father-in-law's MOPAR projects all the time in the evenings.
