Hi all I just joined the PT Forum. I am a second time PT owner.
And looking to see if others are have the same problem as I am having, with shield (or cover) that holds the seat adjust lever. The shield on mine is only held on by 3 plastic clips that snap into the side of the seat. I have an 2008 PT we bought new last year. We have had 3 replaced now and this last one the dealership service deptment tried to repair it by glueing the clips back on. They broke that afternoon. The dealership service manager told it could be replaced one more time under warenty. After that I would have to pay for it myself. I checked on the price I was told it would cost about $64.00.

I would like any info I can get on this problem.

Thanks for being here.

Mine broke because I caught my heel on it when exiting the PT. It was replaced and now that I'm aware of what could happen, I now am mindful of the way I exit.

I called to let them know the cover had broken again. (The plastic clips are the only thing holding the cover on.) I was told it must be the way I was getting out of the car. Putting too much pressure on edge on seat. Went to the dealership so the service mgr. could watch me get out of the car. Was told it would be replaced.

I thought it had been replaced , it came off that evening. I looked at the underside of cover it was the same cover that was already on the car. The pieces were just glued back into place and a metal clip was put over the end where the tip of plastic clip had been.

I have just left it loose for now. There are no screws to hold it on only the plastic clips. There has to be a better idea to hold this cover in place. I have had this car less than a year. It is a 2008, bought it new.

Thanks for listening to me rant.
