Driver's seat pedestal

I have a 2001 LE. I'm a little tall for it. Does anybody know of a replacement pedestal for the driver's seat that would still allow the seat to be practical for someone shorter?

The last I heard, no one's offering a replacement pedestal. You would have to remove the seat's rear mount which is a welded-in structual crossmember of the body/frame. Might effect warranty and insurance liability in case of an accident.

What's "a little tall"? I'm (atleast) 6'7" and fit nicely... even with the moonroof & rear passengers. This is the most comfortable car I've ever driven. Took it 2500 miles to the Rockies last fall without even a hint of a backache <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> and am looking forward to roadtrip to "Cruise the Falls" in June.

I can see the points re safety and warranty.

As far as how tall, 6'4" so the difference must be proportion. If I sit up straight I am brushing the headliner. No real concerns regarding comfort, just sight line.

We got this used about a month ago, 26K miles. I love ours, just like everybody else here seems love theirs.
