Has anybody installed the Billit or Chrome vent knobs? It says the old ones just pull out and install these. If you have installed them would you please advise how they look and fit and are they better then the type you just snap over the exsisting knob...Thanks..

I have the jewels that fit the center knob. They have a set screw that keeps them on. For the outside knobs, that are a little bigger, I found some nut covers at Pep Boys that fit them. They slip right over the knobs. I added some double sided tape to make sure that they stay on, but it isn't needed. The combination looks good and is a lot cheaper than the billet knobs.

I've got the chrome replacement knobs, picked 'em up from a local guy selling them at a PT Cruiser Owner's meet. The factory units do indeed just pop right off and the new ones pop right in. This picture isn't the greatest, but I really like the way they look. Oh yeah, I've also got the chrome A/C control knobs as you can see in this pic.

If you get chrome knobs, try to get a set that has a knurled edge. These are easier to grip when turning. Mine are from Star Tech and there's also a nice set at ptcruiserparts.com (I think?).
The door speaker rings look great but are a real pain to install! By the time I got them to fit the way I wanted, the black sticky stuff (3M Red Liner tape) was shot. I glued them on with 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive also at auto parts stores. Any old 3M tape can be cleaned off with rubbing alcohol. Also use it to clean surfaces before installing 3M tape.
