A hair dryer may do the trick. everytime it gets hot in every car I've ever had that thing always falls off.

Call your local glass shop and ask. They should know exactly what to do.

I replaced mine and I think I just loosened a set screw and slid it off - very easy!

This is true all the screw does is remove the rear view mirror housing. You want the window harness off right?
I live in FL and the heat will take it off for you. You may find the hair dryer useful but it maybe either not hot enough or to hot the stay in the PT while working.

If you had a razor (plastic) you may try to run that up under it. You have to be careful of scratching the glass.

Give me an hour or so to find my ex girlfriends phone number. She always found a way to rip mine off whenever i loaned my old car to her.

My new mirror came with a piece that allowed the new mirror to attach to the original piece on the windshield. Are you sure that yours didn't?
