![]() ![]() ![]() Well the timing belt thing has begun. I was using this universal puller with no problem what so ever. Did have to take one leg off to get them all in the balancer holes. But easy to do. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() I marked the belt and also lined the marks up. Will transfer the marks to the new belt. Between the two methods it should aide in the timing sequence. Time to remove the belt. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() Yep, that's what you think it is. I was bummed when I saw this. Thinking I somehow did this while jacking the motor in the belt removal. But after some more investigating I could see that the color of the metal was darker on most of the break. That means that it was already broke and happened in the accident. Those rubber mounts let the motor and trans move quit a bit during an impact. Will have to find a donor to get a front cover to fix. Was thinking of having the brushes and bearings replaced any way before I discovered the break. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Installed the water pump. The new seal didn't come with the retaining tabs. So I used a few little dabs of silicon to hold the seal in place until it was bolted down. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm taking measurements on the lower sprocket so I can remove to replace the crank seal. I measured both front and between the gear and the oil pump housing. This way if the crank would move in or out in this process I will still get it back on exactly were it was at. Besides the rear measurement will add me in the installation afterwards. ![]() ![]()

Now I needed away to put the sprocket and the balancer back on and the original bolt is no help. So here is what I used to get it off and back on with.
![]() ![]() ![]() I cut a peace of pipe 1-1/8" long. Diameter not important as long as it will fit over the crankshaft. I bought a bolt twice the stock length and you will need a nut to match. Also a thick washer big enough to over hang the pipe. I also gathered up three 6mm x 1.00 x about 3" long bolts, to use with a regular wheel puller for removing the sprocket. ![]()

![]() One of the few tools I didn't get rid of was my balancer installer kit. Fits almost anything. Probably cost about 50 times what your set-up did. ![]() Great idea for the DIYer looking to save money! ![]() Ron
