Did Trans service and stiffer top tq strut. Trans pan was glued on pretty good. Fell off while prying and soaked me and the floor, one slick and the ramps lol

Found out the mounts between 2gn Neon and PT GT are a little different

Cleaned up ground and moved the one from Tq strut to here too

Inspired by the Way the rear bumper cover mounts on LX Foxbody Mustang, I "sucked in" the bottom behind the rear wheel well on the side

I talked to my Brother in Law who is a Mechanic and he was saying we can still cut and heat to make our own pigtail end. I'm just not sure how much it will fatigue the springs?!
i bought a book written in 1912 "how to harden and temper steel" because i wanted to master the DIY approach to working with steel. it's been working out surprisingly well for me so far.

after you heat, and bend, reheat that area to red and quench it in water. then reheat it until blue and let air cool. it'll be flexible enough not to be brittle, yet stiff enough not to fatigue.

590 in this pic.

590 is like semi truck spring stiff(perfect for the pigtail IMO), by comparison a spring tempered to 950 will be softer than a spring in a retractable pen. anywhere in the 590 to 730 color range would work, but aim for the 590.

sorry about the image size, can't reduce the size on my phone

Taking the old girl to the track tomorrow, just to get some datalogs. Not concerned about the time, and they don't have the ability to show MPH.
Cable tied some vacuum/boost lines, Yanked headrest, Pulled the bottom rear panels and wheel well matting out, yanked the Cruise control, added an 2guage ground from the Battery to the strut tower, then the strut tower to the Ground on the Passenger side behind the headlight

i like how you gut the hell out of the car, but leave the AC.

you know in a foxbody mustang, removing that tar insulation removes around 45lbs.

LOL yeah the AC doesn't work so it will go. Same deal in a Neon as well, that sound deadener is right around 40-45lbs. Best way to remove Is dry ice, then hammer it, it shatters right off the metal. Just make sure everything is well ventilated LOL

mine came out pretty easy on this rustang. my last one it sucked, but this car it came right off cleanly and in big chunks. if you look at the picture i attached, the white paint is factory. that's where they perforated it to fit the contour of the trans tunnel. everywhere it's grey is where the tar crap was. i heard about the dry ice, but i've never needed it. this car only took me 15 minutes/1 beer. i removed that stuff so i could bolt that steel plate in there to reinforce my control arms.

Had a great day at the airport drags, got my datalog (kept freezing on me the first two runs). Made a major boo boo on the second run - i tried using the autostick, did the burn out, snapped into the rev limiter, Staged, and BLAAAAHHHHHH. Somehow it went into second gear. I don't know if it defaults to shift if it hits the limiter or what, so I did a pass taking off in second gear. My poor transmission lol. It did a 14.60 on the second gear take off run. I was so dumbfounded that I didn't think to shift it back into 1st. My first run was 13.8, no too bad. My last run was 14.1, I rolled the beams when it started to pull through the converter LOL but beat My dad in his Mustang that runs Mid 13's. It was a fun day, and I wasn't worried about the ET's at this point, wanted a datalog to send to Kevin. It seems to snap into the rev limiter on the 1st to second shift though, which I've got it set at 6490.

And here is the old girl back in the garage safe and sound. Glad I didn't have any problems at the track :-), well other than the operator issue of having it in 2nd to launch LOL
