Default Adding Chrysler Emblems to my PT

Moving the thread here to get it off the "What did you do ..." thread.

Interesting, because the one I have came from an airbag cover on a Chrysler 300 and it has a slight concave curve to it. I was concerned that the center might lift up. Hmmm.

Which 3M tape is used? I just have regular 3M red backing 'outdoor' tape. It's a bit thick.

I may head to the yard this Saturday to see if I can grab more of those small winged badges.

(Might see if its feasible to grab the roof rack, too.)

Jerry said 3M trim tape, as far as I know they only make the one thickness.
That's what I was wondering. Hmm. I will have to look into it.

OK, here is a shot of the curvature of one of the small emblems:

Here's a few more shots, and a couple ideas I had:

Rear Headrest - NOPE Not gonna happen.

IMG_20160915_173944 (Medium).jpg

That slight curvature is perfect for the doors and the front headrests:
Front door:

Front Headrest:

IMG_20160915_174506 (Medium).jpg

Rear door:

This was done before, ( I know it's crooked.) Not sure I like the placement. Maybe over the PT CRUISER text??

IMG_20160915_174813 (Medium).jpg

At the same time, too many would be gaudy and ridiculous, but which ones to do?? I am thinking maybe the Front Headrests and MAYBE the front passenger door? Hmmm.

When I put one on the airbag cover on my PT, if you see that line molded into the cover in the center, I placed the emblem centered in the middle over that line and about 1-1/2" above the line, I thought it looked best there?

I like the placement at the bottom of the front headrests as it would give something for the rear seat passengers to look at. If needed on the rear seat headrests just to match the front, you might be able to apply a little heat to the emblems to give them some more curvature to fit the headrests better?

However I just added a chrome fuel door, and I'm not sure it looks good. I will post a photo when I can.

What about the inside door handles? Yes, No??? Curious as to what others think.

As far as the rear head rests, no one will be behind them to see them and I figure that if I take the seats out, there's a chance of pulling them off if they get caught on something.

I think I will do the front headrests though.

HI! guys (that includes ALL you guys).

I use one specific 3M tape. Only a couple times did i have to resort to a second style black tape. The first is a grey foam but it's not thick at all. It's about as thin as you can get and still be called a foam tape. It's on 99% of my appliques that I've got on my PT.

It has the part number on the package it comes in but the only example I have right now is already open (no package). I'm going to be out and about today so I'll pick up 8 or 10 rolls and get them out to you guys. My source is an auto body supply house although I do seem to remember seeing it once in a retail place. I don't remember which one.

I like the placement on the rear of the front headrests. No, to the rear headrests. This might be a good tome to say again that I didn't use the one from the steering wheels. I used the ones that are attached to the point where the convertible basket handle meets the body. They used to sell for around $12.00 from the dealer, but I got most of mine from the "pik-n-pulls" in my area.

I probably would say yes to the wing on the 2nd gen air bag cover, BUT I would place it below the crease in the cover. but on the opposite side of the cover to balance things out. Directly opposite the existing "PT CRUISER" script.

As far as the door placement, I'll put up a couple pics I where i placed my custom "STAGE 2" N/A 3D vinyls later today after I take some pics.

I've done enough damage here for now. I'll get back to you this afternoon.

I will take a roll of the tape, if you get a spare, be glad to send you payment via PayPal.

The part number I posted in another thread for the small winged emblem is from the convertibe bar, they are about $42 now through a dealership. I bought a couple 2 years ago from an EBay seller for $6/ea, I guess I should have grabbed more.

I especially like the ones on the inside door handles! They look classy, and stock!

Also the ones on the back of the front headrests.

I've always liked sanatanadharma's placement of the wings on the fuel door. Also very classy.
