Boostaddict's PT GT convertible

I figured I'd start a project log for my PT convertible. This is my first PT cruiser, I got it from a very good friend of mine. She had owned it for quite a few years, but after the clutch grenade itself she decided she didn't want to fix the car. She kept really good care of the car over the years and was very good at doing all the maintenance well before the recommended intervals. It had the Timing belt/water pump done, lower control arms, A/C fixed, intake gaskets, coil pack, and new headlights installed on it.
We worked out a deal (well trade) for my Jeep for her PT. Since I work at a Dodge dealership I had it towed to my shop to diagnose what the car needed. The clutch was shot and the intermediate shaft had sheared off all the threads making the car not move at all. Going over the car, I went ahead and did front brakes, a full tune up, Tie rod ends and installed a solid front mount in it. I also put in a Mopar Blow off plate on it as well. I also have a set of Mopar lowering springs for it as well, I'm likely to hold off and put them in after winter.
I've had the car back on the road for a couple of weeks now, and it runs and drives great. Plus I've been enjoying some top down cruising. I've spent a few nights after work detailing the whole car inside and out. It has really cleaned up nice, I just need to take care of some chips on the door edges and on the hood and front fenders. I also got the driver side seat fixed as there was some cracking and scratch marks in the leather.

Thanks for the compliments on the car, I appreciate them. I have grown very fond of it already, and have been looking at doing a few performance and subtle upgrades on it. I've owned plenty of Turbo Dodge's, neons and an SRT-4 or two but this PT puts a smile on my face everyday. I bought another black 05 GT convertible that was in a light front end accident for parts last week. It still runs and drives, but is missing most of the front end from the accident. Luckily I have a storage spot for my fleet of mopars.
I'm probably going to order the Mopar swaybar kit through work for the car, and would like to hunt down one of the Hurst shifters as well. I have a set of Electric blue dash panels I was going to throw in to see how they look in a black car. There are a bunch of dash lights out in the car so I need to pull apart the dash to replace all of them so perfect opportunity to swap dash panels.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a very nice ride. BUT, there's something about vert owners that pisses me off. Jealousy! LOL
