So, if all goes well this time, I should have the Morette Headlight Bezels early next week.

In the mean time, I am ordering a few options for the side marker, and split connectors that would power both the side marker and front facing turn signal lights.
Both will be LEDs!

As I noted, I had mistakenly ordered a Beehive shaped amber LED as my first wish for the side marker.
But, who knows, that size might be the perfect fit for the Morette front facing turn signal.

My Next two options for the side marker are....

1. A 3 inch, 3 LED smoked side BMW marker that would look good on my Audi Gray Cruiser....but, would have to be mounted on the front fender behind the front wheel wells. I'm not excited about extra cluttering there, as I already will have to mount a curved reflector there in order to be DOT compliant.

2. The other option is a small circular 3/4 inch LED on the side of the Morette Mask; or, maybe even just behind it on the front fender, in front of the front wheels (as it doesn't take up as much space as the 3 inch one).

***Anybody sharp enough to see an interesting aspect of this LED????

That 3 inch smoked side marker behind the front wheels would look like this....

SCREWED AGAIN!

For the second time, the Morette headlight masks have been "Returned to Sender" from Customs in Spain!

I have NEVER had a problem with the many things I have ordered in the past from the UK or Australia!
NEVER!

I have warned them that I am beginning to think that this is a scam, by someone taking over the Morette web site, and simply taking the money via PayPal! And, I am contacting the appropriate authorities for an investigation!

Unhappy Re: SOONERCRUISER's Panel Van Conversion

At least Morette does sound serious about the shipping problems!
He says that this 3rd time, the shipping charges, 60eu each time, will cost him more than I paid for the masks!
And, even sent me pictures of the shipping box, labels, and masks.

His explanations sounded more angry at his shipping folks in Spain, than mine were!

Working on a few details for the Morette Headlight assemblies while they are being shipped to the USA.

I will be building them myself (buying the mask only).
So, I want to make sure that I am DOT compliant.

The Morette mask only has the three light holes facing forward.
So, I will have to create a side marker for turn signal; and have a side reflector.
My plan for the side reflector is a curved one that I will place in front of, or behind the front wheel wheels, like the modern MOPARS.
I will wait on that until the shop repairs my accident on the front end.

I have gotten several side marker lights.
One is a elliptical, smoked, 3 inch Peugeot side marker, that would look great on the Audi Gray Cruiser....BUT...
I don't want to clutter up the front and side of the PT with both the reflector, and the side marker.

So, my intention is to place a small amber side marker and turn signal artistically embedded into the side of the Morette headlight mask.
The problem has been finding a small, but visible enough amber LED.

I had no trouble finding the small, 3/4 inch amber Dot. But to me, the one LED just isn't bright enough.

The rest of the available amber side markers are 3 inches and larger.
Well, except for the 2 1/2 inch one I found, that I cut off the end with the screw holes. Making it a 1 1/2 inch, two LED side marker..
After I finish smoothing the curves, sealing, and polishing, the result should be something that there will be no question about visibility, and small enough to embed into the side of the Morette mask, without interfering with the 7 inch sealed low beam bulb.
See the picture below....comparing to the 1 LED 3/4 inch Dot to the 1 1/2 inch 2 LED.

Here it is trimmed.

Angry Re: SOONERCRUISER's Panel Van Conversion

I definately owe Morette Plastics an aplology!

***UPDATE - MORETTE PLASTICS LTD********
****This is a modification of my original post about Morette Plastics shipping from France.
Three good faith attempts have been made by Morette. Apparently, almost all the fault lies with the horrible customer service of the UPS EXPORT-IMPORT Office in Barcelona, SP, where UPS ships through.
I have received copies of the shipping invoices and document from Morette. And, both Morette and I have filed complaints with UPS International.
Each time Morette has shipped it has cost them 60 Euro, now in excess of the value of the part itself.
No one at UPS in Barcelona is keeping their word, let alone communicating with Morette, despite saying there will be no problem with each successive addition of documentation!!

HOLY COW FARTS!!!!

I surfed the web for 2 months and did not see this!!!!!
"Custom Halo Creations" out of Ohio!

I will now NOT BE disappointed at all if Morette gives up on shipping the headlight bezels to me. For about the same price as the Morette bezels alone.......
