Hello JoeX, I saw a post where you spoke about the security/immobilizer, not being able to turn the car on(the security light is solid red when i try to turn it on).Is there any way that i can reset this?

I had many false codes ( guessed that all those thing couldn't have gone wrong with the car) and got mixed up with a re seller of rebuilt ECM's it took 3 to get a good one but I also had a bad ground on the left fender for the O2 sensor. After the second ECM they told me no 3 will be the last one they send because they believed there was other things wrong with my cars and it wasn't their ECM.. Last one worked.
Check your codes, find the sensor, check the ground if it has one. Mine was a 2006 CAN Bus computer. Looking to get rid of it shortly, It will not start now.

Am very new to this forum but have EXACT same problem with my 2004 turbo pt cruiser - throws false codes and have replaced many parts before realizing this and am beyond frustrated. no worn wires or voltage irregularity found so was wondering if you had any success and if so, how?!!! Argh.

Joe.live below the Steeler Hub,near their training camp.Been messing with my sons, girlfriends 07 pt their car.To many hands in the pot b4 it ended up here.Problem now is the charging circuit.Seems today they stuff the voltage regulator inside of a PCM unit?.zero vdc output measured at battery.Alt is used but tested good per junk yard..the bad alt was burnt with bad bearings.fuse's good.local scrap shack sez swappin the PCM requires a dealer reprogram.or it will not even start.?
    >>.I'm considering an external voltage regulator...OLD SCHOOL..thinking the PCM will read battery voltage and keep running without trying to run the PCM's voltage regulator..but even if it did the wires go no where and will be isolated away from ground or shorting out..From what i understand the PCM learns and has the ability to adjust the charge value during the run cycle to maintain max performance.Do you think this would work? Long live my 30 Ford & antique bmw motorcycles.
    Thanks
